Summary
Amends the:
Social Security Act 1991
and
Social Security (Administration) Act 1999
to introduce a non-indexed Carer Supplement, payable to carers currently receiving qualifying payments;
Income Tax Assessment Act 1997
to exempt the supplement from income tax; and
A New Tax System (Family Assistance) Act 1999
to remove indexation of higher income thresholds for certain family assistance payments until 2012.
